Dare To Encourage.

In preparation for the National Day of Encouragement that takes place every 12th September, we have teamed up with DaySpring in the #EncouragementDare to dare people everywhere to reach beyond their comfort zones and take action in the #EncouragementDare from September 10th -15th. We dare you to go out of your way to encourage those around you.

While it’s no secret that God calls us to encourage one another, sometimes the thought of reaching out in constant support of those around us can seem daunting. Or, maybe we know we should say something, but we just don’t have the right words. Or, it could be that we are just too busy to see anything or anyone outside of our daily tasks and schedule.

DaySpring has prepared loads of helpful tools and resources like free Ecards and downloads. It’s called the “encouragement kit” to help you shine God’s light.

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up.

Most times it’s those closest to us that need the most encouragement. Reach out to your spouse, children, parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles and let them know how much you care. It could change the dynamics of your entire household.

Since the 1st of September, I have been more deliberate in encouraging others through my words and actions. One of which is I offered to take care of my friend’s daughter throughout the month of September so she can focus on her work and even though she wanted to pay me for the service, I told her I would be watching and caring for her daughter for free. She was beyond excited and happy too and I, however, happy I could lighten someone else’s burden. It feels so good. #EncouragementDare

It’s tough enough in the world, so do your absolute best to help lighten other people’s burden and not add to it. If encouraging your loved ones is what you have done on a daily basis, it’s time to take it up a notch by reaching out to encourage people you don’t know. Definitely not easy but would totally worth it.

Join me in this challenge as we intentionally make a difference in someone’s life.

  1. Great post and reminder. I’m trying hard to encourage those around me, especially my children. I try to let me kids know that they can do and accomplish anything and to not give up when something is hard.

  2. Great ideas! I love that there is a kit you can download. It’s also true that we should be encouraging the people closest to us. They are the most important people in our lives, and we should treat them that way!

  3. I heard some very negative talk in the hallways this morning as I entered my classroom, so I changed my lesson plan. I had students watch an inspirational TedTalk on positive thinking and challenged them to do one kind thing for someone, an animal or the environment. We’re spending tomorrow’s class sharing the things we did!

  4. This is great, and something I really need to share with both of my daughters. It’s so easy to get caught up in the drama of middle school, and the conversations about rethinking your perspectives is so important!

  5. I definitely want to be more encouraging! I’ll start with more encouraging words and actions for my kids and see where else we can encourage!

  6. This is so neat! I feel compelled often to send notes of encouragement to people, so I’m definitely going to check out these ecards and downloads. Thanks for sharing!
